I’m happy to announce the final schedule and information for our 1st DFW Lute Workshop. Please view it below and let me know if you have any questions. I’m happy to say we are also inviting local luthier Herwin Gaminara at the end of our day to show off some of his instruments and answer any questions you might have!
If you plan to attend but haven’t registered, please do so by the end of June at this link: DFW Lute Workshop Registration. This way I have a clear idea of how many students will attend. We have limited space, so I want to ensure everyone fits in the room. Also, please make sure to bring a stand, we have some at the location but I’m sure we will need more.
We have confirmed the date for our workshop: July 18, 2026. It will be at our usual site, Lark Music Loft, 1201 S Broadway St, Unit 100, Carrollton, Texas 75006.
There is a $40 suggested donation ($20 for Lute Society Members). If you can’t afford this, please come anyway and we won’t charge you. We are only using these funds for future DFW Lute Society events, so we prefer you come and join us regardless of finances. We will accept cash, check, or online payments on the day of the event.

- Class 1 9:20-10:20am: Warming up the left hand with Dr. Stephen Lochbaum
- Class 2 10:30-11:30am: The Mysteries of the Renaissance Right-Hand Technique with Arash Noori
- Lunch Break: 11:45am-12:45pm
- Class 3 1pm-2pm: Margaret Board Lute Book with Dr. Andrew Flory
- Class 4 2:10-3:10pm: Divisions, ornaments, and fantasies oh my! with Dr. Stephen Lochbaum
- Class 5 3:20-4:20pm: Lute Duets of John Johnson with Arash Noori and Dr. Andrew Flory
- Instrument presentation by local luthier Herwin Gaminara: 4:30-4:50pm
- Adjourn to 3 Nations Brewing at 5:00 PM.
